Jamie Dimon’s successor as CEO of JPMorgan has been long debated. Some have come and gone: COO Jennifer Piepszak, for one. Piepszak was a leading contender for Dimon’s role, but Reuters reported in January that she had taken herself out of the running. Investment banking co-head Troy Rohrbaugh is another, but his resume is not as strong as the two female candidates.
There are more dark horses candidates: Mary Callahan Erdoes, the firm’s head of asset and wealth management, and Doug Petno, the other investment banking co-head. But it’s increasingly expected that the role will go to Lake, who is – in her own right – probably one of the most interesting people at the top of world finance today.
